Discover the human history of Zealandia Te Māra a Tāne before it was an ecosanctuary. You’ll learn the fascinating history of how it was used in the past, from mining to Wellington’s water supply. You’ll check out both dam sites through this lush forest walking tour as well as some of the original objects that are part of this history.
This tour will be at a gentle pace but there will be some uphill areas with steps. It will go ahead rain or shine so make sure to wrap up warm and bring a waterproof layer.
General admission is included in your ticket price - feel to wander more before or after your tour. If you book a membership ticket please be sure to show your Zealandia membership card on entry.
