About Grumpy Darren:
Grumpy Darren is an artist from Palmerston North. He's been drawing cartoons since he was a kid in his hometown Dannevirke. As a High School student, he was accredited UE in Art and Tech Drawing and he cartooned for the Dannevirke High School Mag.

Then at his first job at the Post Office he did cartoons of all his post office mates.

For the next 30+ years he went on to be a radio broadcaster and... you guessed it...he'd do cartoons of the radio announcers.

You can see some of his old cartoons on Instagram @grumpydarrenartist

Grumpy Darren left MOREFM in 2020 to pursue his first love...art. His mission is to pass on his knowledge and skills in cartooning, portraiture, landscape and animals to budding artists and to have lots of fun doing it. While Grumpy never really grew up...his alter-ego artist does more serious fine art in portraiture, pets and landscape. You can check his work out on his website.
