Join Auckland based graffiti artist, Berst, for this hands-on workshop exploring the medium of graffiti markers. Develop your own signature tag, and produce it on your very own vinyl slap sticker.
About the artist
Bobby Hung is a NZ-Chinese graffiti artist known under the name Berst. He has painted graffiti for 18 years, and his work features a combination of traditional and contemporary typographic based influences. Berst has been involved in a range of community-centred projects with youth and visual arts education in the tertiary sector, and is currently employed as a Discipline Leader in the Creative Industries at Unitec Institute of Technology and lectures in art and design education. He holds a PhD in Education from the University of Auckland.
Accolades include a second-place award at the international Ono’U graffiti competition in Tahiti, Guinness World Record for the World’s longest graffiti scroll completed in Dubai, and recipient of the Unitec-Taipei Artist Village residency programme.
This workshop is part of The Most Dedicated: Street Art Festival – a selection of new murals painted throughout the Lower Hutt CBD by internationally acclaimed street art collective, TMD Crew. Between 27 and 30 March, see how 15 of the TMD Crew members paint the murals live and turn the city into an outdoor art gallery, adding to Lower Hutt’s existing display of street art.
