Hands-on Workshop
As part of Otago Museum’s Full STE(a)M Ahead project and to mark the International Day of Women and Girls in STEM, we’ve brought New Zealand’s own GirlBoss back to Dunedin to empower young women in Years 11 – 13 to start making a difference in the world right now!
At present, only 2% of NZ’s top CEOs are women and it’s past time to change that young women do not have to wait to be given a leadership role before they can start executing on their own projects today. This workshop will build resilience, confidence, and passion as well as showcase the latest research from NZ’s top recruiters so participants can learn how to win scholarships, gain internships, and create an online presence to bolster their career success.
The host of GirlBoss is 21-year-old Alexia, the 2016 Westpac Woman of Influence Young Leader, 2018 Queen’s Young Leader, and the recipient of the Prime Minister's Pacific Youth Award 2019.
Alexia is an experienced facilitator who will inspire greatness, confidence and resilience in your students. Thousands of young women have participated in her workshops and the results speak for themselves: 95% of attendees have more confidence and 90% are inspired to lead their own community project.
Please Note: This workshop is held during the school day, so we encourage interested parties to speak to their teachers about booking as they may wish to put a group together.
