Join Judy Keats for a hands-on workshop learning how to take charge of and bring out the best in your fruit trees for beauty and increased production.
We will examine tree shape and condition, learn to recognise fruit-bearing wood of stone and pip fruit, the wood to cut and the wood to keep. We will cover understory plantings to attract pollinators and beneficial insects to help maintain a healthy ecosystem within your fruit tree zone. Effective methods for minimizing pest & disease damage will be demonstrated.
Get hands-on and ask all of your questions while working in the fruit forest in this established community garden. Bring suitable clothing for outdoor work, sturdy footwear, sharp secateurs, loppers, pruning saw (if you have them), gardening gloves
