As James Wenley gazed upon a portrait of his namesake and great great great grandfather hanging in the Bank of Scotland in Edinburgh, he realised there was a show he needed to make.

Dr Drama 1 unpacks James’ relationship with masculinity, performance, and whiteness, while letting you into the secrets of how the show itself was made. Using comedic storytelling, multimedia, and dance, James takes audiences on an intellectually stimulating and thoroughly entertaining academic and personal journey.

Directed by Rachael Longshaw-Park, this show makes an urgent inquiry about what it means to own up to your past and present self to come to terms with your identity.
