Exhibition on 30 Jan- 19 Feb.

Opening in the Community Gallery, a selection of work completed in the past couple of years since Dominic Morrison's hometown return to Pukekohe.

Self-taught, Morrison moves from Space paintings through to a finely drawn Hand series and his most recent acrylic Kiwiana Kererus.

Morrison's My Space paintings deal with a relative’s dementia and helped him through some tough times as a form of escape; the pillars, a source of strength for him and his relative. Two paintings from this series sold immediately during the 2020 Franklin Arts Festival Pop up show.

The Hand Drawn series came from holding his hand up to the air and feeling the breeze and life. Then tracing my hand as you do as a child, filling it in and drawing different backgrounds and scenes. One of these came third in the 2019 Franklin Arts fest dry artworks section.
