Paddle Steamer Waimarie Cruise

Experience river travel as it used to be as you listen to commentary, take in the beautiful scenery, meet the homing pigeons on our two-hour cruise departing at 11am and returning at 1pm.

Your cruise leaves the Riverboat Centre Wharf and heads upriver taking in the scenery and views of Whanganui which can only be experienced from the Te Awa Tupua, the Whanganui River.

Our commentary shares riverboat history and points of interest along the way. You can visit the engine room, chat to the engineers and check out the boiler that powers our paddle steamer and maybe meet our homing pigeons and send a message with them on their flight back to the Riverboat Centre.
