Frank Talbot Quartet (Wellington)
Since moving from his hometown of Devonport to Wellington to study at the New Zealand School of Music in 2016, saxophonist Frank Talbot has quickly established himself as a major player in the scene as a member of the Rodger Fox Big Band, Royal New Zealand Air Force Band and Julie Lamb Outfit, performing regularly in Wellington, around New Zealand and having performed throughout Eastern Europe, New Orleans and New York and recorded in New York and Croatia.

While heavily steeped in the tradition, Talbot draws from a range of musical influences, from his classical clarinet playing, love of heavy metal, working with prog and rock bands and a range of pop and funk music, Talbot is a versatile and varied player.

After his CJC debut in 2019 in an emerging artist series with vocalist Ella Dunbar-Wilcox, of which John Fenton wrote "New Zealand produces many good tenor players, and judging by Talbot's confident performance, he will go from strength to strength", Talbot returns to the club with a rhythm section of Wellington's finest to present an evening of his works.
