Ben Lerner returns to New Zealand for the first time since moving to Sydney to present a host of original compositions with a top local band.

Fresh off the back of appearances with Mike Nock’s Nocktet, Steve Barry’s Quartet, and numerous appearances with other Australian heavyweights, Ben will perform a set of original music alongside an exciting local band, including the 4-movement Vocare Suite, written to encompass Ben’s experiences during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Alex Pipes is a guitarist and composer based in Auckland, New Zealand. A recent graduate of the Jazz programme at the University of Auckland, Alex is continuing his studies at an honors level while gigging and performing in and around Auckland.

For his CJC debut as a bandleader, Alex fronts a band of the finest young musicians through his compositions, encapsulating learnings from his studies, experiences as a musician, and his myriad of musical influences.
