We know that we need to make more conscious choices for the environment and for the legacy we’ll leave for our mokopuna. Māori are searching for initiatives that can support us to be who we are meant to be in our everyday lives, and Māori and non-Māori and businesses are begging to look at holistic, science-based models to address climate change, depleting resources and inequity.
In her kōrero Rhonda will talk about the Living Pā, the redevelopment of the marae at Te Herenga Waka―Victoria University of Wellington. The Living Pā seeks to centre people and community, and to take a holistic approach to do good (as opposed to less harm).
Rhonda (Poutini Ngāi Tahu) is a Senior Advisor in the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Māori at Te Herenga Waka―Victoria University of Wellington. This role includes the co-project management of the Living Pā project. Prior to the university, Rhonda worked in education, housing and local government sectors.
This event will go ahead during alert level 2 following the Ministry of Health guidelines. There will be no refreshments and we’ll have 1m distancing between seats. You are welcome to bring your own (non-alcoholic) drinks and any snacks to have while seated. Doors open at 6pm.
