Classics at the Cove

Classics at the cove is an annual outdoor concert at the Tahamoana Angora Goat farm. Set in an idyllic amphitheater overlooking stunning Bream Bay. This concert is in association with Opera North. Ridge Ponini returns this year with 'Alo4a' the Fonoti Fuimaono Brothers from Hawkes Bay, and Katherine Winitana, a Dame Malvina Major Foundation Artist with New Zealand Opera. They are being accompanied by Ben Kubiak also a Dame Malvina Major Foundation Artist.
The list of credits for these artists is too long to put here, but a quick search on the internet will reveal the work that they have been doing this year. Needless to say each and everyone of them is amongst New Zealand's finest young opera singers.
Opera North have just finished performing in 'Furthering the Dream' in Whangarei, they open Classics at the Cove with Opera North Ensemble Chorus singing a rousing piece and accompany the guest artists with medley throughout the show. Joined by top soloists from Northland. Opera North is Accompanied by local pianist Mirabella Uphof .

Bring along a picnic or enjoy some delicious food from our food vendors. Only a 3 km walk on the Waipu cycle and walking track to Waipu Cove beach and Cafe or 5.6Km on Cove Road , from the Pizza Barn.

Free parking with wheelchair access, and shade. School age children free.
$40 Tickets also available at the gate from 3.pm on the day.
