Christchurch Quilters has an exhibition every second year. It is mainly members' work from the past two years. While also making traditional quilts many of our members enjoy creating art, pictorial and landscape, modern and upcycled quilts. Some have taken part in national and international competitions and travelling exhibitions.
This time we have two guest exhibitors: one is Alice Jones who recently completed her Masters in Textile Arts with the themes of Feminism, Fairytales and Violence. The second is a selection of work by the late Allison Cocks who passed away in 2019.
We also have two national travelling exhibitions which are part of Aotearoa Quilters entitled "Reflections" and the Lime Challenge.
Raffle tickets will be available to buy offering great prizes including 2 quilts, a dinner voucher, patchwork bags, fabrics and an automotive basket.
In order to support some of our sponsoring merchants in these challenging Covid times, we have offered space to 6 who will bring a range of quilting merchandise for you to buy including Handzon from Rangiora, Mallee Textiles, Annie's Country Quilts from Ashburton, Pink Possum Quilting from Greymouth, Forget me Knots from Christchurch and Just Souvenirs from Akaroa.
This will be the biggest quilt show in Christchurch this year - don't miss it! We have worked out how to abide by Covid regulations and will ensure 2 metre spacing between people. Visitors are requested to please bring their masks, however, if you forget, we will have a supply available. Everyone is welcome.
