Chris Thompson & The Dirt Band

Chris Thompson is a psychedelic folk and blues singer, songwriter and guitarist, who made his name alongside England and Ireland's best folk and blues musicians in the early 1970s while touring and recording there. His first album released in the UK in 1973 became an internationally acclaimed psychedelic folk classic, and he has since released 22 albums back in New Zealand with his latest and pinnacle album 'Only One Way Out Of Town' - recorded live and released just last year. His best-known song in the Waikato is 'Hamilton'.

Chris sings and plays mostly original songs with his guitar master solo acoustic fingerstyle and slide to open the show, and joins the psychedelic folk and rock group The Dirt Band on electric for this rare reunion.
