Background on John Bissell:

John has a long established record and experience targeting and controlling predators to very low densities to protect vulnerable threatened species. He has been involved in forest restoration at Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre for many years and is also the National Predator Control Advisor for Kiwis4kiwi.

John travels throughout NZ training, designing, mentoring and advising big and small, community and private projects. His approach to predator control is a mix of science, hunting and gut instinct based on experience and local factors. Rather than simply just a trapper, John considers himself to be more of a predator hunter and animal behavourist. He specialises in resolving predation and incursion responses where he is sometimes targeting one animal in a large landscape.

This is an opportunity for trappers to spend an indoor day with John and learn tips, tricks and observations based on what actually works. Some of these you won't find in a manual. This is also a chance for you to get answers to those burning questions that will improve your trapping skills, knowledge, and results. John's delivery style is an active one and he promises that it won’t be boring! You can follow John on Instagram @nzpredatorhunter
