Greed, deceit, repressed love and sexual desire - this 20th Century Classic was personal favourite of its Mississippi-born playwright Tennessee Williams.
A family has gathered to celebrate the birthday of wealthy, ailing patriarch Big Daddy in his Mississippi Delta plantation home: A family in crisis. This is illustrated by the marriage between Big Daddy’s alcoholic son Brick and his unfulfilled wife Maggie “the Cat”, a marriage strained by painful memories of Brick’s now-deceased former best friend.
This play was adapted into a popular film starring Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman in 1958 - seeing further adaptions for TV in 1976 and 1984.
Sian Davis directs a cast of eight adults and four children: The poster shows Aleksandr Staprans as Brick and Amalia Schroeder as Maggie "the Cat".
