An Archaeologist’s View of Early Dunedin
The University of Otago is carrying out several large construction and renovation projects, some of which have revealed archaeological evidence of the early history of Dunedin.
Southern Pacific Archaeological Research (SPAR) is the University's research unit responsible for this archaeological work. Co-Director Dr Karen Greig will share some of her team’s experiences and outcomes from the archaeological investigations at the Dental School and Research Support Facility sites on Great King Street.
Hear how this work has highlighted aspects of nineteenth-century changes in settlement patterns, land-use practices, and social history during the growth of the city.
