The book artists of Hawke’s Bay present an exhibition of handmade books, word and book inspired sculptures and other treasures.
Using paper, fabric, flax, paint, wire, twigs, wax, thread and a myriad of other materials, book artists stitch, print, draw, stick, press, fold, paint, dye and assemble their words and images into beautiful books, sculptures and word related objects.
Exploring subjects as diverse as drinking tea to light and texture, the work of 10+ artists from all over Hawkes Bay is featured in BOOK : BOOK
Taking as inspiration, a familiar, everyday object – a book – and transforming it into a a quirky, elaborate or sumptuous art work offers every visitor a new and unusual experience.
