Bigos and Blues Dine and Dance!

Enjoy Polish national dish while listening to the amazing Crying Shame Blues Band playing live the greatest hits!

Bigos aka hunters stew is a one pot meal made with a selection of meats (including smoked Polish sausage) and vegetables, mostly cabbage and sauerkraut. Bigos will be accompanied by plenty of fresh bread and butter. A vegan version will be available upon request - please contact bigosandblues@gmail.com

A superstar Lineup of Blues men:
Warwick Murray – front person and guitarist. Also, Bluekulele, Spanish guitar, vocals and humour. If you’ve heard of them, he’s played with them – either in person, or to their records. Known to his friends as Shirley, Warwick collects hats and really is a Professor. He professes to know a lot about geography, and a lot about guitars and music. Try him.

Dougal Speir – another front person and guitarist. Sings but does not dance. Founder of the legendary Mangaweka Viaduct Blues Band, co-founder of the Capital Blues Club, alumni of many other Welly bands, among them the fabulous Red Dog Saloon Band of whom more will be heard later. Well connected to the Italian community, so – watch out.

Elliotte Fuimaono – bass guitar and vocals, ex-Brown Street, various Darren Watson Band line-ups including South Side of Bombay, Chicago Smokeshop, the Family Band and of course, the Red Dog Saloon Band. Into big, fast American muscle cars…..smell that burning rubber!

Roger Watkins – drums and grimaces (despite the name, he’s Polish….). Compiler of two books about New Zealand’s pop history, spent several years playing with the likes of the late, great Ray Columbus, also Shane, Suzanne and the mighty Frankie Stevens. Now the train driver with Red Dogs and this band of angels – who should probably be called The Painkillers.
