The exhibition ‘Becoming’ is a therapeutic response to the problems that young people face time and again under the watchful yet often inattentive eyes of the older generation. Cordula Taiwo presents her way of dealing with the tapestry of joy and pain she experiences and witnesses in her daily life as a teacher, wife, aunt, daughter, friend, mentor and godmother.

Pairing her work with poetry and poetic expressions comes naturally as it is an emotion that she is following from its complexity in time and space to its singular expression on a canvas.

As a special feature and Covid-19 permitting, Glenn Colquhoun will be reciting his heartfelt poems and songs from his 'Letters to young people' on the Gala Night.

Cordula dedicates this exhibition, all profits from it, and her ‘becoming an artist’ to the young men from Live for More in Tauranga and those who help them to develop new ways of looking at the world and themselves.

Please join us at the Gala Night for wine and nibbles and listen to one of New Zealand's finest poets recite his poetry for young people.
