This year, Battle of the Bands National Championship celebrates its 26th Anniversary.

The event has been helping NZ bands establish themselves year after year; providing a platform for up and coming artists to gain valuable experience and win career building opportunities. During the 26 years BOTB has sent bands on tour to Europe, Asia, Australia and all around NZ, given out prizes of thousands of hours of studio time at many of NZ and Australia’s top studios, CD pressings, record releases, festival slots, given away amps, drums, guitars, mixing desks and much more and of course put on thousands of events in many cities.

Many well-known NZ music artists have been previous winners and finalists of the event; such as Fungi/(opshop), Tadpole, Blindspott, Bakers Eddy, Skinny Hobos, Strangely Arousing, Tunes of I, Brendon Thomas & the Vibes, the Rubics, Tablefox, Alien Weaponry, Pale Lady, Valkyrie, Members of I Am Giant, Devilskin and many more.

Each year the event consists of multiple live shows held at leading professional live music venues throughout the country.
Bands from around NZ compete locally for a place at the National Finals held in Auckland and to win a huge prize pool; this year consisting of:

• Tour of New Zealand
• Performance at rhythm and vines festival
• Single recording at the lab recording studio in AKL
• Single mixed in Australia UK producer Steve James
• Allen & heath mixing desk
• Jansen and audio technica equipment

As BOTBs celebrates its 26th anniversary, the event’s long term media partner Juice TV is back… a new era of independent music television; on Freeview Channel 200 and https://www.juicetv.live/
