You are invited to deepen into pleasure by experiencing a gorgeous combination of exquisite music, top-quality sound and physical massage at this unique event, Bass Massage. As you lie back and sink into your sensations of sound and touch, you'll be taken on a beautiful voyage of deep listening through electronic, filmic and sonically surprising music.
Musician Òran Mór will create a carefully tended soundscape of exploration for you, taking you from realms high and low to peculiar and powerful. The Sensonauts will guide you to feel into your senses and heighten your sound awareness at the start. As Òran Mór crafts four movements to follow symphonic form, you will be lulled, intrigued, and entranced.
With an exceptional sound system by Tub's Audio tuned to space, your ears will tingle with aural excitement while your body feels the beauty of bass. And your body can melt into bliss as you are massaged by an experienced masseur at a point during the journey, working with the rhythms of the music. Finally, enjoy some relaxing tea and a grounding snack to bring you smoothly back to reality.
Òran Mór is DJ/producer Oliver Macro, a lifelong lover of sound and all of its ethereal properties. A familiar figure among the psychedelic, circus, and alternative outdoor-loving communities of Aotearoa, Òran Mór is known for an intricate and considered approach to music and sound, with a love of stylistic diversity and the spaces between sonic worlds. He is the ideal navigator for this adventure through sound.
We've brought Bass Massage back as the previous shows both sold out, but this is Òran Mór's last Wellington-based gig before he moves to the south island. He will create an entirely new soundscape for this show, so previous lovers of Bass Massage can be entranced all over again! There are limited spaces (max 35 people each show, 2 nights only) as you'll be lying or sitting down (some chairs available if preferred).
Please note there will be three experienced masseurs, and the massage will be clothed. The massage is optional, you are welcome to purely bliss out in sound if preferred. Bring your own pillow, yoga mat and blanket so you can luxuriate into comfort - some mats will be available.
