Barrel Room Blues with Mike Garner and Robbie Lavën

Robbie Lavën and Mike Garner present a show of acoustic blues, ragtime and Americana, featuring acoustic guitars, resonators, mandolin, fiddle, lap steel and washboard.

For this last show of the year, Mike & Robbie will be joined by special guest Stuart Lawrence on upright bass. Stuart has played with Mike for almost 20 years in duos, trios and The Mike Garner Band.

Since emerging from the Auckland folk scene Robbie has become one of New Zealand's most respected musicians, playing a host of instruments in styles ranging from folk to rock, Latin to jazz.
Along with partner Marion Arts he spent a decade abroad, playing major festivals in Holland, Belgium, Denmark and Ireland. They currently lead Gypsy jazz ensemble Bonjour Swing.

Mike is a well-known NZ Blues singer and songwriter. He has a wealth of blues experience over nearly 40 years, having played in Europe, Australia, NZ and the Pacific, Japan and Kathmandu in Nepal. He has made 6 CDs and won international awards for his songwriting.
