The Rochelle Spence Dance Studio will perform Bad Jelly as the main part of their annual recital on Saturday 27 March at the Napier Municipal Theatre at 2 pm and 7 pm. Performing Bad Jelly every seven years is a studio tradition.

Based on the entertaining Spike Milligan children’s story, Bad Jelly the Witch, the students will provide a colourful dance/drama performance taking the audience on a journey with Tim & Rose searching for their family cow Lucy. There will be groups of dancing baby birdies, buttercups, fireflies, robins, forest imps, river, snow, apple blossom, witches helpers, rain, sunrise, night and clouds as well as many interesting lead characters including a giant, tree goblin, shark, tin lion, a mouse, an eagle and of course Bad Jelly herself.

During the first half of the show there will be a series of short dances in a variety of dance styles including classical ballet, jazz and contemporary.

This is a 2-hour long show to be enjoyed by all.
