Hear Carole Shepheard talk about her exhibition Out of the Shadows: a print journey with Carole Shepheard and friends.

Carole Shepheard is a renowned printmaking artist, and in 2002 was appointed an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her services to the arts. She has had a rich and varied career, with her practice influencing numerous artists in Aotearoa's arts landscape.

Out of the Shadows: a print journey with Carole Shepheard and friends is a celebration of printmaking as a medium. It showcases that last 20 years of Shepheard's artistic practice, and looks memory, issues surrounding women's rights, the role of women in society and feminism.

Her exhibition also includes more recent works which discuss topics around mental health, isolation, anxiety and melancholy in the age of Covid-19.
