New Zealanders Karen Jones’ and Tony Burt’s music stems from wildly different musical journeys. Karen’s love of traditional and Celtic folk music comes from living and playing music in Scotland for many years. Tony’s repertoire of Americana and music composition comes from a passion for the resonator lap steel as an expressive instrument and studying in the USA with the best artisans of the dobro craft.

They bring their musical styles together to freely explore their own unique Transatlantic musical expressions. Delicate harp and resonator combinations pay tribute to traditional airs and hard-driving, chordal guitar rhythms bring a fresh approach to Americana tunes. The combination is eclectic, irresistible and exciting.

The wild card is Hanna Wiskari Griffiths. An exciting, dynamic, soulful saxophonist and much respected Swedish folk artist, Hanna regularly joins them in concert. She brings with her the rhythms and traditional melodies borne in her Scandinavian homeland. Hannah adds seductive swing, sway and rhythm to the mix. The combined result creates a new sound, intricately woven, all the while retaining respect for their traditions.
