This workshop will provide an introduction to working with this wonderful plant-touching, smelling and experiencing the leaves with your own hands.
Robyn will teach some preparation methods and we will explore some of the techniques and ideas she has used in the construction of her installation work, 'Permeable' in the South Quad, while also exploring some of the history and tikanga associated with harakeke NZ flax.
This session is limited to 12 people.
As an artist, Robyn is interested in the connectedness between people, ideas and things. Her practice has strong earth references from the materials she uses and because she makes everything with her hands.
Robyn's work has encompassed ideas around the mind and memory, language and feeling, around macro/ micro-scale shifts, to the body’s relationship with the land and with time.
This workshop is presented as part of The Arts Centre Sculpture Festival. Tickets to the Sculpture Festival exhibition are sold separately, visit the website.
