Join Distributed Resource Centre Resident Artists Mongoose and Java from Tardigrade World on a treasure hunt around Mairangi Bay village, explore our local community waste-conscious, and see what rubbish we are throwing out. [Supported, in part, by Hibiscus and Bays Local Board]

Collaborating artists from Tardigrade World, Mongoose and Java both graduated Elam School of Fine arts in 2016 and work together in different and similar ways in art and sustainability. The artist’s projects as part of the Mairangi Arts garden residency respond to the on-going effects of human production of rubbish sourcing waste materials within the Hibiscus Coast. In keeping with change, art provides the platform that allows us to process information in individual ways.

Mongoose Chen and Java Bentley are both passionate artists in Tardigrade World which is an art, design, and sustainability research assemblage, which all its members are inspired by and engage with the challenge of the current environmental emergency under the context of art and design.
