Palmerston North City will host a commemoration of the signing of te Tiriti o Waitangi in the Square on February 6 from 9am – 2pm.

This will be a free, fun and informative event for the entire whanau. Echoing Te Peeti Te Awe Awe's affirmation, "I have laid the foundation of friendship as a legacy to guide future generations", the day will be a blend of ceremony, reflection, family fun, friendship and entertainment.

Rangitāne will open the day with an official Civic Ceremony and Flag Raising at The Cenotaph from 9am. Then from 10am The Square will come alive! Bring along a picnic and enjoy live music from Ripple Effect, Common Unity and Jimmy and the Jets. There will be free children’s activities, mini jeeps and bouncy castles.

Hosted by Damien ‘Dfresh’ McGregor and wife, Angela McGregor, this is a day you do not want to miss, so make sure you’re in The Square this Waitangi Day!

This event is free and family-friendly.
