Waipu Highland Games

This iconic event is being held in Waipu for its 149th year. Top level competitors come from all over New Zealand and overseas to compete for the awards.

See the heavyweights toss the caber or hurl the hammer. Watch Scottish Highland Dancers strive for the top spot. Listen to pipers and drummers do their thing.

There is heaps for the whole family with plenty for the kids to do – bouncy castles, ride-ons and plenty of vendors selling yummy food and drink.

Join in the tug-o-war or enter Tartan in the Park. A variety stage will give you all day entertainment.
