Sefton Rani

Sefton Rani’s work is influenced by the concept of wabi sabi, the Japanese aesthetic described as the “beauty that is imperfect, impermanent and incomplete”. He creates paint skins which are his primary working material along with found objects. Sefton uses collage to build these dry paint skins into visually dense paintings that give a feeling of time and history which he calls urban tapa.
