Tinnitus Talk provided by Dr Grant Searchfield who is an Associate Professor in the Audiology Section at the University of Auckland, and directs the University’s Hearing and Tinnitus Clinic. Hearing Support Bay of Plenty, will host this Tinnitus Talk, held on Thursday, 12th November at Knox Presbyterian Church 1 pm until 2:30pm.

Grant will help sufferers to understand what Tinnitus is and share some of his team’s research findings. There will also be limited time for Q&A. Tea/coffee and cake afterwards.

Imagine not being able to switch off or walk away from a really persistent irritating noise such as a buzz, a ringing sound, or whistling and whooshing sounds. Tinnitus is the perception of sound in the absence of an external auditory source. Many of us can experience mild tinnitus from time to time in quiet moments. Many people can even put up with mild tinnitus but for some tinnitus goes beyond being a nuisance to being very unpleasant with a devastating impact on their quality of life.
