Love roses, gardens or free family events? Then join us to celebrate summer, flowers and fun times at the Timaru Festival of Roses.

The Timaru Festival of Roses is one of New Zealand's premier garden events held annually to celebrate creativity, gardens, art, music and community and of course the bloom of the Roses at the start of each summer.

The Festival is based around the internationally recognised and award-winning ‘garden of excellence’ Trevor Griffiths Rose Gardens. These Gardens showcase 1,100 heritage and modern roses from a private collection that was once the third biggest in the world.

This is a multi-day, multi-event Festival with activities spread around Timaru over 3 days - a huge community event that attracts hundreds of visitors and thousands of locals who welcome the beginning of summer and the bloom of the roses.

The 2020 Festival activities are still being finalised but will likely include public and private garden displays, exhibitions, tours, art creations, children's activities, live music and theatre.

Most events are free to attend, some are ticketed, while other ticket revenue goes directly to supporting charities.
