Written in 1943 by NZ playwright, Isobel Andrews, this one act award winning comedy offers a glimpse into the lives of women in small town New Zealand everywhere. The scene is set at the Saturday night dance, in the kitchen of the local hall, much like the kitchen at 116... It’s time to dust the cobwebs off this little gem of a well made, one act play and bring it back into the light of day. In 1943 local drama societies still wanted to put on plays but there was a dearth of both men to act in them and plays for a female cast so Isobella set to work and produced this fun comedy. It remains her best known work.
