The 1960s was a decade of incredible upheaval and creativity. London was the epicentre of all this and photographer Michael Cooper was there with his camera to capture it.

A Vogue fashion photographer, Cooper lived with Keith Richards and mingled with the creative, rich and famous. His superb photographs provide a unique insider's view of the Sixties.

Cooper photographed the cover image of The Beatles’ iconic album, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, along with all the rule-breakers of the era: The Rolling Stones, Marianne Faithfull, Gered Mankovitz, Twiggy, William Burroughs, David Hockney, Francis Bacon and more.

A spectacular limited-edition book on the 1960s pop culture, Blinds & Shutters features over 600 photographs by Michael Cooper. To celebrate 30 years since the milestone publication a final 600 copies from the edition of 5000 copies have been presented in a handcrafted anniversary binding.

A Blinds & Shutters boxed set of 30 prints crafted and presented in a handmade solander box will be released to mark the exhibition.

The exhibition is made possible thanks to David Hedley from Hedley’s Booksellers and presented in collaboration with Kokomai Creative Festival.
