The Performance Arcade is returning to Wellington waterfront with a sensational lineup of free live art, music and performance by NZ and International artists.

This award-winning festival brings together Live Art, Music and Performance in a specially curated event on Wellington Waterfront. With works installed within an architectural arrangement of stacked together shipping containers, an innovative ‘village’ for performance and arts presentation is created.

Artistic Director Sam Trubridge says of the 2020 event:
This year’s programme [in the out sides] examines the island space of Aotearoa New Zealand, and states of inclusion and exclusion; experiencing the interior and exterior as interweaving conditions.

On the outside looking in, or from the inside looking out – we often find ourselves moving between positions of estrangement and belonging. These 25+ performance projects play with these concepts and perceptions, inviting you to look further within and to come closer – searching beyond face value to find hidden depths inside the image, the body, the experience, and our shipping container spaces.

We are excited to announce Trustpower as our principal presenting partner for the third year. We would also like to thank Creative New Zealand and Wellington City Council for being our core funders.
