"A danger to themselves and others..." Auckland-based band, The Flaming Mudcats are a high energy, four-piece, Rhythm and Blues outfit fronted by Craig Bracken on vocals and harmonica along with guitarist Doug Bygrave, drummer Ian Thomson and bass man Johnny Yu are heading to the South Island!
Formed in 2009, they have released three albums, performed nationally as well as in Australia, the Pacific Islands and have remarkably twice taken their blues back to its source, in America.
The band played at the Crossroads Blues Festival in Rockford, Illinois, alongside the likes of Lil Ed and The Blues Imperials and Tad Robinson. They were the only international blues act invited to perform.
They have also played in Austin, Texas and at two of Chicago’s oldest and most iconic clubs, Kingston Mines and B.L.U.E.S... the pure beating heart of Chicago blues.
Their energetic live sets blend original material and covers drawn from their eclectic influences with killer grooves, blazing licks and harp wizardry. Butt-shaking belters, soulful grinders with everything in between… welcome to the Flaming Mudcats show.
