The Fades

The Fades live in Whanganui for the first time!

Wellington based The Fades are New Zealand’s vintage funk & soul masters, born out of a love of heroes such as Aretha Franklin, Bill Withers, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Sam & Dave and many more in the classic soul cannon. They draw from a deep collection of soul and funk artists and from labels like STAX Records, to modern heroes like Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, among other modern vintage treats.

After a few years of playing together as a working band around Wellington and boasting members from other Wellington bands such as Raw Collective, Tunes of I, the Shake-em-on-Downers, Mel Parsons & Richter City Rebels - The Fades are polished and ready to drop their modern kiwi take on a classic soul sound.

The Fades have released their debut single Fresh Cut out now and are hitting some shows around New Zealand in 2020 so keep your eyes peeled Fadesters!
