A very rare 35mm screening of the original theatrical cut of The Exorcist.
See it as it was originally seen on first release. This version holds supernatural power.
When it first appeared in cinemas Friedkin’s profane, blasphemous, frequently-brutal adaptation of William Peter Blatty’s best-selling supernatural thriller was experienced as a startling, almost-unprecedented cinematic assault, the harsh, harrowing work of a master filmmaker.
Almost half a century later, though? The same damn thing. Priests Max von Sydow and Jason Miller, the latter in a performance of gloomy grandeur, are called on to cast a demon out of a Georgetown townhouse, and find themselves staring down pure evil.
