The Lysaght Watt Gallery, Hawera will be hosting an exhibition this March 4-28 showcasing the talents of two recently formed South Taranaki artist collectives.

The small coastal towns of Ohawe and Opunake boast many things including diverse creative talent, with the help of the South Taranaki District Council, STDC Arts Coordinator and the Lysaght Watt Gallery these artists come together for this exhibition.

The Opunake Open Studios and Galleries artists consist of Claire Jensen, Viv Davy, Monica Willson, Karen Dey, Liz Sinclair, Rhonda Crawford and Emmanuelle Charmant. As the name suggests these artists host their own gallery spaces and studios in Opunake, more information available on Facebook.

Ohawe Beach artists are known as the Ohawe Creative Community and includes Angela McAlpine, Ann Goulden, Amy Thompson, Caryl Murray, Dave Lee, Anne-Maree Godfrey, Errin Rita, Sylvia Thompson and Tracey Christodoulou.

The exhibition will feature a diverse range of art for viewing and sale from various disciplines including photography, painting, sculpture, fibre art and mixed media art.

Closely following the end of the show in March the Opunake Open Studios and Galleries artists will be holding open days and welcome visitors to meet them in their spaces. Dates for these open days are the weekends of April 4-5 and June 6-7.
