After consulting with the organisations involved, and in light of the worsening coronavirus pandemic, the Te Whau Day Out team has made the difficult decision to postpone our celebration of the Whau river which was going to be on Saturday 28th of March.

It wasn’t an easy decision but we feel it’s the right decision. Ngā mihi nui.

Te Whau Pathway and Friends welcome you to a Whau river day out!

Bring along a picnic and make a day of it. Or just turn up for a few hours and enjoy the entertainment—food and drink will be available from the community sausage sizzle, bake sale and coffee cart.

There will be fun and playful activities to do for all ages, young and old—everyone can join in. Try making an insect out of clay, our digital treasure hunt or creating paintings with bikes! Or look out for the bottle-nosed dolphins.

Well. Maybe not the dolphins. But you never know when it comes to the Whau…they were seen playing in the river just last year!

This is part of EcoFest West and is a zero waste event. Please BYO coffee cups.

Thank you to our event partners Community Waitakere, EcoMatters Environment Trust, Kelston Community Hub, MPHS Community Trust and Sport Waitakere. Tumeke!

This event is proudly supported by the Whau and Henderson-Massey Local Boards, Auckland Council and Auckland Transport.
