Darkroom and RDU 98.5 FM present the third seminar in a series of free, informal, peer-run artist development sessions.
September's topic: Writing an Electronic Press Kit
Free entry, free snacks, and the bar will be open if you want to buy a drink.
So, what is an EPK and why do I need one?
An Electronic Press Kit or EPK is that savvy pre-packaged set of promo materials and info about your band that you send off when you're booking out of town shows or applying for festival line ups. Often fitting onto one page, it's a short summary that quickly shows us all the good stuff about your band - it will usually be made up of a photo of your band, an engaging blurb, and links to all the important info about you like where we can have a listen to your music.
Artists, musicians and creatives of any type are welcome to attend, regardless of experience or ability. While this topic is aimed at musicians, we hope other artists can also gain important info about writing a good promo blurb or bio, and presenting themselves professionally and convincingly.
So come hang out, do some learning and have some free snacks.
These events are super informal and the idea is to learn from our peers and share our skills and experience with others in the creative and event industries.
Please note this event is held in a licensed premises and any under 18 year olds must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
