Self-care: A four week course in meditations to enhance confidence, compassion and self-protection
with Dale Pryme and Marion Taylor.

We live in a very uncertain world where life can change suddenly and without warning.
Every day in the news there are more problems and disasters. While we do everything we can to protect ourselves from physical danger, it can be difficult to find peace of mind and freedom from anxiety.

Many of us have grown up in challenging circumstances , been exposed to negative role-models, or have been encouraged to be fiercely competitive. We may have developed our own inner critic who speaks harshly to us and puts us down at every opportunity, leaving us feeling as though we’re never quite good enough.

This evidence-based course will help us to practise being kinder to ourselves, and therefore more compassionate and understanding towards others. These qualities can be truly protective. We can always choose our response no matter what is happening in the external world.

This course is suitable for everyone and are an ideal opportunity to take some time out, relax, refresh and improve our sense of inner peace and well-being.

These classes will help us experience the benefits of meditation and learn practical ways of maintaining a peaceful and positive mind in the midst of the challenges and busy-ness of everyday life.

The talks are drawn from Buddhist teachings but are relevant to all of us (Buddhist and non-Buddhist alike). Classes start with a brief introduction, and a guided breathing meditation to help us relax and clear our minds.

This is followed by a talk and then we do a second guided meditation, which is related to the teaching, and helps us to take what we have learnt into our daily life.
