Join Park Rangers at Halswell Quarry as they explore how volcanoes shaped the land, build traditional mōkihi (rafts), and learn about mahinga kai and the traditional Māori uses of wetland plants. This event is part of Matariki celebrations in Christchurch Parks.
Bring drinking water, warm clothes and sturdy shoes. Meet at the Halswell Quarry Singlemen's Quarters (Visitor Centre).
Children's tickets are $5 each, you MUST register your attendance by booking a ticket on Eventfinda.
Event FREE for parents/guardians/caregivers, do not purchase a ticket. You are required to stay with your child for the duration of the event.
