Pawsative Pastels

Exhibiting the paintings of Hastings artist Judith Aitken, highlighting her pastels paintings of cats and dogs.

Judith is a local artist who has been painting for 30 years, having exhibited in Auckland, Cornwall, Edinburgh, Napier, Hastings and Palmerston North. Born in Masterton, she lived in Auckland and UK before settling in Hastings in 2005, She is married with two children and 3 grandchildren.
Jude's a keen photographer and paints from photos in pastels, watercolours and acrylic, specialising in pastels drawing people, pets and cars. She especially has a predilection for cats and nudes. When painting people she prefers to convey an emotion, rather than simply a portrait.

Judith’s strong artistic nature loves to do all things creative, doing various crafts, gardening, sewing, decorating and loves to entertain frequently. She also enjoys doing wedding & portrait photography.
