Paul Haywood: Rock of Rah

In this latest series of paintings, Haywood continues to explore his fascination with ancient cultures and mythology. In 2019, on a visit to a tiny island in Northern Vanuatu, Haywood and his guide discovered intriguing rock carvings. 

Little is known about the origins of these petroglyphs, either who carved them, when and what they represent. Haywood has drawn upon the legends and history of Rah in this striking body of work.
