Pasifika Vibes: CANCELLED

We’re excited to keep the Pasifika Festival celebrations going with Pasifika Vibes @ MOTAT.

MOTAT is collaborating with the Auckland War Memorial Museum and the New Zealand Maritime Museum to bring you a weekend of activities, food and entertainment for all to enjoy.

Free entry from our Western Springs gate and Stadium Road during the Pasifika Festival. Bring the whole family along to chill out with a variety of yummy food, great music, a DJ, hip hop dancing and singing.

The New Zealand Maritime Museum will have lashing stations for you to try your hand at lashing poles together with fibres, a fish weaving craft activity and a Mini Māui photo booth. The MOTAT team will teach you to make your own pūrerehua, and Auckland Museum are bringing their pop up museum to explore the experience of Tupaia, a Tahitian navigator priest or ta‘unga, who travelled with James Cook on the Endeavour in search of the great southern continent.

Please note: MOTAT exhibition halls, trams, and the upper part of MOTAT 1 (805 Great North Rd) + all of MOTAT 2 (200 Meola Rd) will be closed during the Pasifika Festival.
