Out In the Park

Out in the Park returns! Wellington's Queer Fair, an annual event for queer people, their whānau and friends. It’s an all-day event featuring stalls, food, entertainment, and fun in the sun! It is a great chance to celebrate the diversity of our capital, and everyone is welcome!

The fair was first established in 1986 as "The Gay and Lesbian Fair" to build support for the Homosexual Law Reform, which was then before the New Zealand Parliament. Since then, it has grown into "Out in the Park", Wellington's famous queer fair.

Out in the Park marks the beginning of the two week long Wellington Pride Festival | Tū Whakahīhī e Te Whanganui-ā-Tara, celebrating the LGBTTIQ+ community in Wellington.
