In his directorial debut, Stephen Lefebvre presents a cast of young actors performing a modern take on one of the greatest plays ever.
Oedipus Rex is the greatest King that Thebes has ever seen. Kind, compassionate, intelligent, vicious, powerful and dedicated. When sickness threatens Thebes, he will do what he can to cure the land and save his people, through destroying the diseased virus in whatever form it takes, even if it is Oedipus himself.
"Oedipus Rex" is a confrontational piece about destiny, birthright, power and desire. Like the story of Oedipus may suggest, this performance is not 'fun for the whole family' and is not recommended for children.
Performances are located in the theatrette at the McCombs Performing Arts Centre, Cashmere High School.
