We have teamed up with the Wellington Astronomical Society and Remutaka Conservation Trust to bring your exclusive FREE event.

Wander through some of the oldest trees in the Wellington region, serenaded by native birds as darkness falls. You may even hear the cries of kiwi and ruru (moreporks). This is your chance to explore an area not normally open to the public, including the glowworm filled access tunnel that links to the Orongorongo Valley. Wellington Astronomical Society are joining us to give you the opportunity to search the skies through a telescope looking for Jupiter and Saturn and learn about Dark Sky awareness and preservation. Remutaka Conservation trust volunteers will also be at hand to talk about their Kiwi release programme and discuss how they monitor their nesting and spread into the water collection area

Booking essential – Maximum 30 people. This is a FREE event.
Please bring: torches/headlamps (red lenses preferred), sturdy walking shoes/boots, waterproof jacket in case of wet weather.
Moderate level of fitness required. This event is not for children under the age of 15.
